why I loathe facebook… or yikes did my friend really just say that?

I want a facebook where no one is allowed to write about politics, or religion– or guns. Actually they are the reasons I stay off of facebook, that and I really don’t need to know what you had for breakfast, or are planning to have for lunch (unless you are inviting me) or how much you love your children. How about this (novel idea I know, but) If you love your children so much try telling them, like to their faces, no need for public declarations on some social media platform. Yeah, that shit irks me.

It’s like totally sane people take the opportunity which is facebook to rant to their friends and whoever else they assume cares, that they find someone else’s beliefs to be absurd. They word everything as though we all agree with them, which we don’t but wouldn’t dare broach on some place like facebook. They take this opportunity with their captive audience of friends and relatives to call politicians and anyone else they don’t care for pieces of shit. I just don’t need that negativity. And then they turn around and post some zen, I’m in my happy place, do unto others, meme, which totally confuses the hell out of me. As you can tell, I have given this much, way too much actually, thought.

“Being kind to others is the same as being kind to yourself. Kindness gives others hope. Your inconvenience is minor if you stop to help someone. But for them it means a great deal. Kindness is the most valuable gift you can give to someone. It changes them. By lifting up someone in need you automatically lift yourself. In that instant, you make the world a better place.

Give without hesitating. You don’t have to be seen by others. You are being observed by the whole universe. Isn’t that enough? The most important part of your life will be the unseen random acts of kindness you performed.”
